As an Infant Teacher at Primrose School of Fairfax, you’ll help care for little ones who range in age from six weeks to one year old. They are eager to learn about and explore their world, and through singing, dancing, and storytelling, you’ll provide a safe and loving environment that nurtures the social, emotional, cognitive, creative and physical development of each child.

Create a Loving Environment: Provide a warm, safe, and engaging space where infants feel secure and loved.
  • Encourage Early Learning: Implement our Balanced Learning® curriculum to foster cognitive, social, and physical development through songs, tummy time, sensory play, and interactive activities.
  • Build Strong Bonds: Develop trusting relationships with infants and their families, keeping parents informed about their child's progress and daily activities.
  • Lead with Care: Guide and support assistant teachers, ensuring a team-oriented and positive atmosphere.
  • Maintain Safety & Cleanliness: Follow health and safety guidelines to keep the classroom clean, organized, and a healthy place to learn.
  • Spend your days building genuine relationships with each child thanks to low classroom ratios.
  • Prepare materials that help children explore their environment through learning activities and active play.
  • Work with your co-teacher to implement the lesson plans from the research-informed Balanced Learning® curriculum.
  • Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
  • Discover what works best for each child as you teach them about the world around them.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in infant care or early childhood education preferred
  • A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic personality

Compensation: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
